Commodore 64 CRT Monitor for Aseprite
A downloadable tool for macOS
Making C64 pixel art in Aseprite? C64 CRT Monitor lets you see a calibrated C64 display preview as you work, directly in the editor. Preview the active frame, tune the monitor, and export exactly what you see.
- Authentic C64 CRT rendering powered by Colodore.com's C64 color model
- Color, Contrast, Brightness, scanlines, chroma options, and VIC-II revision controls
- 2x and 3x output, True Aspect, and 2:1 pixel support for 160×200 multicolor artwork
- Layer visibility reflected in the monitor preview
- Export the current monitor image as PNG
- Managed palette mode for C64-indexed artwork
- Original palette mode keeps your artwork palette unchanged
macOS 15+ and Aseprite required. Windows and Linux ports may follow if there is demand.
Install through Edit → Preferences → Extensions → Add Extension, then choose View → C64 CRT Monitor... with an artwork document open.
C64 screen-mode and color-clash validation are planned for a future release. Give it time—and love.
